President Obama and the Democrats in congress use scapegoats to veil their own
culpability in our economic woes. They pontificate about the evil “predatory lenders”
as if
they were the ones that sank us into recession/depression.

In fact, all these straw-dog banks were doing was following Democratic sub-prime
policy. As directed, lenders enabled poor people to buy homes that they had no chance
in hell of paying for. If the banks refused to play, they could expect a “visit” at their
offices or homes from that federally indicted, taxpayer supported, election fraud thug-
a-torium called ACORN whose lawyer now occupies the White House.

In an interesting twist, we have the President of the United States telling our
representatives they must enact legislation that neither they nor the president have
read. Rumor is that not even the most informed member of the administration,
Teleprompter, has been appraised of any relevant information in fear he might inform
his minion.

The leveraged takeover of America

Joe Biden is left to gaff up the truth. He claims the previous predatory legislation, that
intensely ineffective pork-oozing edict, AKA the
stimulus bill, a failure. If Viagra were
this bill, Pfizer would be forced to limp into bankruptcy court…small claims division.

Now Barack wants congress to repeat this nightmare with other unread bills, veiling
them in the cloak of helping the uninsured, whilst pushing a law that would force us to
use our taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions and render aging moms and dads to more
suffering and quicker deaths.

As if this weren’t sinister enough!

All these hundreds of billions in taxpayer money seem lost in space, slow to get to
their appointed destination and conveniently unaccountable. The president uses these
billions, soon to be trillions, as another appointee to his cabinet, maybe even his top
czar.  He’s taken ownership of this power float as if he has it stashed in his back
pocket. Obama has already wielded this weapon:

  • Arizona Governor Jan Brewer was accosted by four Obama sycophants
insisting Arizona Senator Kyle shut his pie hole in regard to criticizing the
anointed one. They threatened to take away billions in stimulus promised to the
    state.

  • Ohio Representative Marcy Kaptur was recently bought off for her vote on cap
and trade with a three billion dollar “program.”  Not bad pay for a holdout.

  • Obama implies cancelling 61-year ally Israel ’s financial and military aid. While
Barack has opined about Iran ’s legitimacy for having nuclear power (code for
nuclear bombs), Hillary only threatens the Persians if they use them. Retaliation
for Israel won’t do them much good as one or two well placed nukes will
effectively “wipe Israel (and six million more Jews) off the map.” One could
opine this removal of support for Israel is based on the Jewish State’s refusal
to halt building homes for Jews in--horrors of horrors-- Israel .

  • Barack pledges to force 47 million (including 10-12 million illegal immigrants)
into the health care system. Obama’s back pocket is getting awfully crowded--
must have weighed him down when he bounced the first pitch at the All Star
    Game.

  • Illegally handing over a billion of our tax dollars to the terrorists of Hamas.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Even more important than blue-dog Dems beginning to get it are independents and
moderate liberals. More than a few are turning against the dreamer and schemer as
indicated by recent polls.

Before we submit to euthanizing our seniors and murdering our babies with taxpayer
money maybe we should pull the plug on Obamacare and the congressmen who
support it.

There’s plenty of room to “reform” healthcare. Let’s start with charging those who
bring fraudulent malpractice suits.

Free speech shouldn’t be bought or sold. Ideas must be supported or fought within
our constitutional rights.

Our change should be for Barack’s mind or his job.

They’re called
elections and the next one is in 2010, the first step in Obama’s power
outage. Vote out the obscurers of the Constitution, thieves of our democracy and
socialist tyrants while we still have the right.
adorno

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

With Obama and the democrats in charge of all power in Washington, they are feeling their oats and feel like
absolute rulers, or like dictators.

They will use that power to get their programs across, no matter who is against them, or how much the public is
turning against them. They know that their chances to get the whole federal government to function as one huge
“social” program, may never come again. So, they need to do whatever it takes to pass nationalized health care
and global warming legislation and whatever else they can squeeze in during the next 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 years. If they
don’t screw us now, they many never get the chance again.

ketsu

Obama is not that nefarious. He's essentially the first European style leader America has had.
If he has his way America will be exactly like Europe. High density living with strict regulations, high taxes and
bad service. You won't have to work as hard, but you won't be rewarded for it either. In short FReeper hell.

If you want to see the future go live in a French city that isn't Paris.

Paperpuncher

Dave,
Welcome back to the 'Opinions' home page!

Quote: 'Theres plenty of room to reform healthcare. Lets start with charging those who bring fraudulent malpractice
suits.'

I agree, totally! But I would like to address an area of Health Care that everyone, it seems, is ignoring. And I
believe if something were done about it, would help stifle or slow down the rising costs of Health Care.

One part of the 'Health Care' reform should include controlling the Judges, Lawyers, and Jurors involved with all
malpractice lawsuits against doctors and hospitals.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe there is a good purpose for proven malpractice lawsuits as a punishment and
possible determent. However, the Judges, Lawyers, and Jurors involved in the process are all too happy to award
HUMONGOUS amounts of money to the plaintiffs.

Why can't there be caps set into place for the amount of money a lawsuit can payout to the plaintiffs. The cap
system could be set up in degrees or levels of a winning payout according to the needs of the patient to continue
their life with their future health care needed for that particular health problem they acquired from the malpractice.
And, there should also be a cap for the amount awarded for 'Pain and Suffering'.

Why haven't they done this?

shorttimer

Dave I am so depressed after reading your article. There just never seems to be anything the dems. do that you
like. Reading Paperpuncher above, his idea is good and should be done. I think Bush even pushed for this. If
Obama came out strong for it would you find fault there to? If he does nothing then you find fault there. I just don't
understand people that are not reaching out a hand in friendship and trying to find good in things rather than, Bad,
bad, bad. By the way can you explain why FOX did not cover the news conference the other day when everyone
else did? They never seem to cover these things which is another thing I don't understand. MSNBC, CBS, NBC
and ABC always covered Bush?

nifong

Watching the news conference last night (on Fox Shorty) I realized why OBAMA has hoodwinked the majority of
the US citizens. I just about fell to the floor laughing when he commented on breaking into the white house and
getting shot. He is a funny man sometimes with great charisma and it is easy to see why he could gain the trust of
so many people.

But it just blows my mind how he tries to convince people that all this spending is a good thing and that they are
gonna 'got something for nothing'. Some would get 'something for nothing '. And we all know who they are. The
rest of us will have to work our tails off and pay all the taxes to support these parasites.

God has mercy on the truly disabled people. For the rest If they don't work they don't eat, period.

shorttimer

nifong if the Republicans had won the election what do you think they would be doing right now? Do you think
they would be standing still doing nothing or doing some of the same things the democrats are now doing. You
do realize and there is no question about this, George Bush did pass on a trillion and a half dollar defacit and
during his term he doubled the national debt. Do you think that if the Republicans were in there running things
they would just stop spending? Come on now .

Pam Siegfried

You've got one factual glitch inthe article.  The letters to AZ overnor Brewer do not threaten to take away stimulus
money.  They tell her that IF she follows Kyl's suggestion, AZ will lose certain stimulus monies.  It's not that
they threatened to take the money, it's that the money she would be giving up includes these projects.  Kind of
like the reporter reminding her questioner that he was in for a $400 tax rebate under the program he was protesting.

As to the cap on malpractice awards suggested by paperpuncher, lifetime care of, say a quadriplegic runs to
millions of dollars.  Standard workman's comp in Alaska for a death is one million.  Even repairing my husband's
elbow after he broke it was four years and roughly $80,000.  So don't automatically assume the multimillion
dollar award is inflated.

But back to the article, Obama's manufactured crises PLUS his superficial grasp of history is getting really, really
old.  I will be glad to swap out the TOTUS for someone less embarassing in 2013.

Bob Stoltz

"your an inspiration Mr. Weinbaum!!!"

nifong

Shorty,

There you go again putting spin on my comments. I am not bashing just the dems. I was very disappointed with
W to say the least. EVERYONE knew about the trouble with the banks for years, but NOBODY DID A DAMN
THING ABOUT IT to correct the problems and keep this mess from happening. So don't try to make my
comments political because they are not.

By the way, it turns my stomach to see any politician point fingers and cast blame. Why not talk about solutions
only instead of wasting my time reminding me hundreds of times how we got in this mess.

It infuriates me when OBAMA lies to the citizens, telling them that his health care plan is gonna be cheaper and
provide better care. C'mon America, use some common sense.

shorttimer

nifong how do you know that it will not be cheaper and provide better care? Do you have a crystal ball. I am
serious, what do you base your claim on?

Dave Weinbaum replies:

I don't know where you went puncher. Hope you're in a nice place. I was going to answer you but your blog
disapeared.

Shorty, I wrote two columns that were complimentary to Obama. One was in 8/06 where I identified him as the
hero of the left and the other was upon his election when I congratulated him and wished him the best in governing
the country well. Since then he has been about as total a disaster that I've seen since Jimmy Carter and he's getting
worse.

Further, it isn't just evident to me or other conservatives, it's become obvious to his former BACKERS, Moderate
Dems and independents. Even some of his staunchest suppporters are starting to question his motives and actions.

BTW., I criticized Bush on a number of subjects, especially the economy, but I never thought he did anything to
hurt the country. I believe Barack hates America and wants to destroy it and recreate it in his skewed image of
justice.

Dave

nifong

Shorty,

I have 20 yrs of experience in medicine. My opinions are not all based on politics and since I started this blog last
fall most if not all my coments have been based on common sense and what I think is best for the country, even if
it is a middle/left view.

Obama has a crystal ball filled with lies and probably PCP. How else could someone forsee medicine becoming
cheaper when including EVERYONE, even illegals. Yes, there needs to be change but not like he wants.

Fooling the American people into believing that patients will always be able to make their own decisions
regarding their medical care is a bold face LIE! He wants socialized medicine, which would includes rationing care,
especially to the elderly. He would be taking care away from people that literally spilled their blood to preserve his
right to do so. Kind of an unwanted suicide, isn't it?

I took a deep breath when Obama was elected and told myself to give the guy a chance, maybe he can do some
good things for our country. He hasn't just disapointed the American people, he has made alot of them fuming
mad. It isn't just him. 90% of congress has done the same thing. 2010 can't get here soon enough. I hope voters
will participate in the primarys because this country needs some new blood in Washington.

Paperpuncher

Dave,

I've been here all the time (on my screen). I noticed RDN seems to yank comments off for a while and then put
them back on, sometimes days later. I can't figure that one out. Sometimes it helps to 'refresh or reload' the web
page and then magically comments reappear.

Anyway, if you still can't find my blog, let me know and I will paste a copy of it on here. Because, I truly would
like your opinion on my question.

Thanks, Dave

Because the government is run by lawyers. Check out the occupations of those in congress and the WH and the
Supreme Court.

Leslie Robinet

Dave, I always enjoy your columns. Usually they are humorous, this one would be if it weren't so true. Thank you.

Dave Weinbaum replies:

Thanks Leslie. Have a fun weekend.

Dave,

regarding your last paragraph, you can count on it!

I did not vote for this Narcissist in Chief in the first place.

I am happy to count myself amongst the roughly 20% of relatively sane Jews who saw through this schmuck from
the get go!

See you at the voting booth.

Meanwhile, keep writing!  We need all the sunlight we can get!

Dave Weinbaum replies:

Rudi,

Thanks for taking the time to write.

Don Walker

Dave,

I awoke the other night with my mind racing trying to make sense of the totally placid response of most
Americans to our government takeover compared to the people if Honduras, and the courage of the Iranian people
responding to fraudulent elections while we call a clown “Senator Franken” after he was elected with more votes
than were physically cast in many districts. Here is what I put together in my insomniac state:

21st Century, namby-pamby, politically correct, American girly men

Patrick Henry (March 23, 1775) – “Give me liberty or give me death”.

Founding Fathers (1776) “we mutually pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor” and “we shall hang
together or hang separately”.

Fast forward to 2009……

CAP AND TRADE - Eight Republicans pass cap and trade bill…..Now the stuff we exhale and plants need to live
is considered pollution. The EPA and Supremes say so; so it must be true….Don’t complicate the story with the
fact that CO2 is something like four-tenths of one-percent of our atmosphere. We are not talking logic here….just
stick with the emotions of saving the planet…And when the One is done with this, perhaps he can reverse the
black holes in space….

POTUS ON HEALTHCARE – “First of all, if you got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your
plan, you can keep your doctors, you can keep your plan”. Bullshit! The plan crowds out private plans and makes
it illegal to purchase them after five years.

Who the hell are these clowns and what happened to American statesman? Where did all the real men go in
America ? Perhaps they are preening and telling the ladies how they feel about non-confrontational conflict
resolution and how nice they smell?

Lessons from Iran and Honduras …..

Unarmed Iranian students peacefully protest the fraudulent elections and seek liberty. They have been living in 7th
century theocracy for thirty years under Sharia Law. Meanwhile, Americans living in the most free and longest
surviving Representative Republic fret like little girly men that the government may increase their electric bill by
90 percent; crush the private sector and devolve our way of life to join the Iranian student protestors in a 7th
century (global warming) theocracy. Where did all the real men go?

The congress and POTUS plan on approving single payer healthcare within weeks before the August recess. What
will we do? Oh, my gosh! The truth is a government option will force 120,000 from their private plans that will
become extinct if anybody reads the damn bill. BTW, our Constitution of Enumerated Powers does not give these
despots authority over our healthcare. And what damn business is it of the government anyway when they screw
up the mail, stole our social security funds and harass us at the DMV?

The Congress, Supreme Court and people of Honduras have the same kind of men we had two-and-a-third
centuries ago…..They threw the bastard out in his pajamas. They didn’t even give him time to put on his pants….
That where the real men are, in Honduras ! And Iran !

Feel free to use my ideas if you thing they are worthy. I always look for your articles and get your email blast
regularly. You have the same sick, sarcastic sense of humor my Scot family has for which I am the most
outrageous. I love your columns for that reason and because I know they must piss off the liberals and
progressives. Keep up the fight!

Dave Weinbaum replies:

Don,

Thanks for writing.

Robert Brown

Dave, Larry Elders is the Black Man that I wish Black People would look up to & respect. But it is a shame that
they on the most follow the typical black leaders BB

Dave Weinbaum replies:

He’s a good guy. I’ve traded emails with him.

OldProf

Dave, I have been browsing the origins of 'The Big Lie'. That is a ploy whereby you continue to pound your
talking points, no matter how outrageous, and many people will come to believe them. Very popular in German
politics during the 20's and 30's. Conspiracy theories are usually in this category. Nowadays we call it 'staying on
point', thus the gangs of commentators on TV shouting their 'talking points' at the top of their lungs, and not
taking turns. I find Hannity especially fond of this, especially if a liberal makes the mistake of calling in with a
differing point of view. Usually bullies take an agressive posture due to their insecurity. I haven't yet caught your
radio show. Do you allow other points of view? Or is it a shout down?

OldProf

Dave, That was a good one! The problem with the increasing costs of health care are those lawyers on the Supreme
Court. Thanks for the quote. I can't wait to share it with my fellow libs.

sissyann

Talking of caps on lawsuits, there should also be a flat rate cap for the lawyers. I was just by the post office, when I
was stop by a woman who wanted me to talk to our state representatives about the health care bill. I right away
thought she was for it. I told her no Idid not want it to pass. She said she just wanted something done. Well I
said something needs to be done, but not what they are trying to push on us.We talk for a few min. and ask again
to call and gave me a paper. I did not read it until i got home and it was a letter to urge Rep Emerson to vot for
the bill that is now being debated. She lied to me, If you believe in something you should be honest about it. I
am wondering now if she was not with Acorn.

Dave Weinbaum replies:

Prof,
Just did my show about 1 1/2 hrs ago. I BEG for liberal callers. In terms of how I treat them, I think I'm
exceedingly polite and probably give THEM more time than my conservative callers. Quite frankly, it makes for
better radio. The show is Friday mornings from 9:05 til 10:00 Call 364-0800 on 99.7 FM and 1490 AM.

OldProf

nifong - Glad to hear of your experience in the medical profession. Whenever I get into this topic I find others with
lots of experience with 'dead beats.' I can't relate to those that would take social payments for food and clothing for
their families and spend it on alcohol or drugs.
That is a dead beat. But how do I care for his wife and children without paying for his bad habits? Take the
children? Run soup kitchens? Have social workers going to the home at meal times? I hope you will agree that
there are souls unable to care for themselves. I don't want to leave them to die. Are you in favor of termination of
the pregnancy of Down's Syndrome babies? They cost society a lot. Shall we not give medical care to illegal
immigrant mothers who come here to give birth to American citizens?

I am not trying to give you a hard time, but I agree that rationing is an effective way to limit medical expense. The
ancilliary damage is considerable.

Please give me the benefit of your medical experience with regard to health care in at least one of the specific
concerns.

Liberals like Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are the ones who got us into this
economic mess in the first place through the CRA and absolutely no oversight of Fannie and Freddie which were
allowed to run completely amuck.

The economic collapse of this country was brought about by liberals not conservatives. The sooner the entire
country realizes that fact, the better off the country will be.

It is long past time NOT TO ELECT ANY SINGLE LIBERAL to a position in power in government. They need
to be defeated completely and without hesitation on the part of all American voters who need to stop listening to
what the MSM wants you to hear, not what the truth is.

Obummer and his administration is taking the media down the sewer with him.

PreciousLiberty

Excellent article!

0bama is going down hard. -9 favorability rating today. =:-D

IbJensen

It is long past time NOT TO ELECT ANY SINGLE LIBERAL to a position in power in government.
Snowe and Collins of Maine are poster girls for the socialistic RINOs that have infested the Republican Party.

To flush out these RINOs is an impossible task, so it would seem that a conservative party's time has arrived. If
those who would formulate such a party continue to waste time we'll never get it off the ground.

The sooner the better. This Obomba creature needs to be constantly sniped at during the balance of his
administration. He needs to be on the run and tormented exactly like Governor Sarah Palin has been since agreeing
to the second spot on a ticket doomed by McCain and his cohorts.

We'll never know or understand how Sarah was tormented by the evil complicit media who get their marching
orders from the communist puppeteers who pull the strings of the goons that think they're running (and ruining)
America single-handed.

PreciousLiberty

Unfortunately Romney is also a poster boy RINO, yet is paraded as Our Next Great Hope.

Palin ‘12!

Education is in order. The policies that caused the “housing bubble” and “subprime crisis” were Democrat
policies (CRA), and the Dems had a Congressional majority for the last two years of GWB’s final term. After all,
Congress controls the purse strings and sets fiscal policy.

McCain (to give him credit for something) did try to get more oversight over FM & FM, but Congress shot it
down.

stephenjohnbanker

“Education is in order.”

The NEA has dumbed down 2 entire generations. No more U.S.History, or civics, or government in the core
curriculum. This leaves 3 left wing networks, and left wing CNN on cable.
Only Fox approaches the truth, and most Americans don’t watch it.

You know this, I know it, but the vast majority of Americans don’t, and wouldn’t understand it if they were told.
Back at the end of 2005, ex-texan and I posted warnings of a “major economic meltdown”, starting with the
mortgage market, then a collapse of real estate values, and securities. We were mercilously ridiculed, so many
FReepers didn’t know, or understand it either. How do you explain this to a bus driver?

How many times have we seen a liberal use this pathetically lame excuse?
